Share fundraising ideas and stories…
Toybox supporters like you are vital in bringing about change to the lives of the street children in Latin America. The money that you raise is critical! Without financial support we cannot carry out the vision we believe God has given Toybox to see; ‘A world with no street children’
You make the difference, from raising a few pounds to much, much more. By working together dreams can be turned into reality. It’s really exciting – people together can accomplish so much more than an individual could ever do, and have fun in the process!
Why not share your fund-raising stories here… you can even share photos from your event, just upload your photo to a photo sharing website like flickr, and enter the URL by clicking on the image link below.

Ooooooooooh wow!!!!
Fundraising ideas… hmmmm… well I was doing a Toybox stall recently at a church that supports Toybox (YAY!!!!!) and there was another table there too – it was a friendship bracelet making stall for Toybox!!! You pay 20p and can make a beautiful friendship bracelet!!!! Awesome!!!!
You could have a teddy bears picnic and like invite loads of little kids and their families and friends (and any cool teenagers like MEE who’d love to go to stuff like that!!!!
) to bring their teddies and some picnic food or party food or both, and like have a bring and share thing so everyone gets lots of yummy food, and pay a donation towards Toybox?
Or how about sponsored stuff? Spornsored swim/cycle/walk/run/whatever!!! They’re cool!! The thing is about those though is that LOADS of people do sponsored stuff these days, so it’s unoriginal and nobody sponsors you because they’ve sponsored so many other people!!
OOOOOOOOOOH – could have like a meeting with loads of friends to come up with awesome new radical ideas for fundraising, and no matter how crazy or impossible they sound, write them down and think about them – especially the craziest ones!! They might be worth a try!!! Fun fun fun!!!!
Another idea that I love the sound of is a Toybox craft day!!! I know that LOADS of people have MASSES of old craft stuff that they’re never going to use but they keep just in case and don’t like to throw anything out… invite loads of people to a Toybox craft day and get people to bring all the old craft stuff they can find in old cupboards or whatever – old scraps of fabric, bits of random colourful stuff, the lot!! and lay it all out on tables and make awesome stuff out of them!! The most random materials can make the coolest stuff!! and lay out some ideas eg badges, ornaments, bags, hairclips, whatever!!! You could use like a church hall or something, where you can put lots of tables to do stuff on, and put chairs around them, and ask for a donation on entry and anything that people don’t want to keep that they’ve made can be sold for Toybox at a Toybox craft sale that you could also hold!!!! Or if that’s too big scale and scary, if you can’t rise to that level of excitement, have a mini one at home!! Use the biggest room in the house, push a load of random tables and desks together and have it there!!! the crafts you make could also serve as Christmas presents for people!!! And get your friends to come and join in, with a donation to Toybox!!!! How awesome is that idea?! I think I’ll do that!! It would be awesome if other people did too!! WOW!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOH and whatever scale it is – massive or tiny or somewhere in the middle, you could get people to take photos of their creations and enter them into a comptetition thingy, awarding something from the Toybox catalogue as a prize!!! and there could be like a minimum donation of 50p for every entry!!! WOW coooool!!!!
Errrrm what other ideas are there? OOOOOOOOOOH I KNOW!! if you’re musical then how about a Toybox concert?! or even musical talent show?! Like a battle of the bands!!!! Get a band together and write some songs, or play other people’s songs, and perform them!!!! Could have lots of bands, competing, like a battle of the bands thingy, or just a concert… whichever!!! I know there’s LOADS of people everywhere who are musically talented and long for the chance to perform… and other people are looking for something interesting and fun to go to… AND it would raise money for Toybox!! Sell tickets for it and also have a donation pot with info about Toybox etc….. WOW i like this isea too!! HEHEHE I’m on a roll today!!
ok everyone out there who may be reading this – if you’re not inspired to do something by these ideas then i challenge you to come up with more ideas!!! WOW it’s exciting!!! YAY!!!!!!

Happy New Year to you all! Well a new year has begun! This time of year is a fantastic opportunity to burn off all those Christmas mince pies by taking part in a fundraising challenge – like the 3 day cycle challenge in August across Hadrian’s Wall http://www.toybox.org.uk/cycle_challenge.html. Or why not create your own challenge for 2010 while raising funds for the street children of Latin America!
Please do post your ideas on the forum – we would love to hear from you.
Happy fundraising!
