Toybox Charity honoured with the ICTI award
The Toybox charity has been awarded the 2012 ICTI (International Council of Toy Industries) prize for their work with the street children of Latin America. Andy Stockbridge, Toybox CEO, accepted the award from the ICTI president at their Annual Gala dinner in London last night.
The ICTI is an organisation that represents the global toy industry with a membership comprising of National Toy Associations. The ICTI award was initiated to recognise and honour the work undertaken by many organisations working for children’s welfare all over the world. The award was championed by Salvador Miro of Spain. Through his efforts ICTI constituted a committee in 2003, consisting of delegates from Canada, Australia and Spain, to draw up the guidelines for the ICTI Annual Award.
With the award comes a cheque for £10,000 which will help Toybox to continue its life changing work with street children in the cities of Central and South America. Andy comments: “It was an honour to receive this award and be recognised by the Toy industry for our commitment and dedication to work with street children."
